Anglian Water are in search of a Group Senior Financial Accountant, in charge of the Statutory accounting for the Group. The role is integral to the preparation of semi-annual statutory accounts under IFRS and is key to ensuring the monthly accounts are compliant with accounting standards. The role will work closely with the Treasury team helping to provide technical accounting support to commercial transactions and ensuring that complex group consolidations are managed and accounted for accurately.
You will be required to ensure that the accounting policies are compliant with the latest accounting standards, being responsible for the production of accurate and timely accounting and reviewing proofs and reconciliations to support the group consolidation.
Preparing the presentation pack, and supporting papers, for the use by the Chief Financial Officer in presenting Anglian Water Group results to investors. You will ensure there is an alignment of management and statutory accounts by passing down year-end and half year adjustments to the management accounts and reconciling the opening balances to the pack submissions.
Finally, you will be establishing and maintaining efficient systems and processes for collating and consolidating financial accounts from the business divisions and ensuring that changes in account standards are incorporated in these submissions.

What does it take to be a Group Senior Financial Accountant?
Qualified accountant ideally with experience in audit and/or large groups consolidations
Knowledge of International Reporting Standards (IFRS) critical
Prior practical experience with IFRS 9, IFRS 13, IFRS 16 or IFRS 10 helpful
Experience in accounting for debt and derivatives (hedge accounting also advantageous)
Strong Leadership skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Attention to detail essential along with strong analytical and planning skills
Business knowhow and understanding
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Ability to solve challenging problems and provide solutions
