The Seals and Bearings business of Morgan Advanced Materials makes high-performance self-lubricating bearing and seal components, predominantly used in pumps, industrial and domestic, or other sealing applications.
We use advanced carbon/graphite, silicon carbide, alumina and zirconia materials to engineer lightweight, low-friction bearings and seals. These materials help solve the problems associated with the use of lubricants in extreme temperatures, corrosive or hygienic environments where access is restricted, and are engineered into products which provide customer-specific solutions.

Responsibilities:
Overview and Scope of Role:
The Toolmaker role is a demanding and extremely varied role, which will require you to provide tooling for different types and sizes of machinery on site.
The preferred candidate will be an apprentice trained engineer capable of working with good mechanical engineering skills, being able to help overhaul and maintain our press tooling. Ultimately, this role will have a valuable impact on our core operational targets.
Operations
Service and repair tooling (strip down, clean, lubricate and rebuild)
Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production
Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares
Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality of parts produced
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications
Apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline
Essential Experience
This is a hands on job requiring engineering skill levels to craft level or similar/higher
Conversant with H&S rules, regulations and best practices
Knowledge of manual handling
Able to confidently work to engineering drawings
Be confident and experienced in working with;
bench fitting,
turning,
milling,
surface grinding
and be able to perform these tasks to a competent standard
Desirable Experience
Cylindrical grinding
CNC machining
Wire eroder
Spark eroder
Knowledge of press tooling

Excellent communicator
Flexible to work out of normal contracted hours when production requires.
