Background

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Realty Insurances Limited, a highly successful, specialist, independent, chartered insurance broking firm in the heart of the West End of London.

This ambitious company is in the envious and unique position of sharing common ownership with Grosvenor, one of the pre-eminent private international property companies based in the UK, headed by the 7th Duke of Westminster, with assets under management of circa £12 billion.

Realty was established in 1950, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and was one of the first firms to be awarded the status of corporate Chartered Insurance Brokers by the Chartered Insurance Institute. The company utilises Microsoft applications including SharePoint and the Open GI broker management system.

The company specialises in providing advice and arranging insurance for residential and commercial property owners, property developers and associated risks including private lines. The company currently handles premium income in excess of £40 million per annum and, having grown consistently in recent years is now recruiting to up-grade and assist with future expansion.

Purpose of Role

To support the company meet and attempt to exceed budgeted income and profit targets and to help position the company for future growth. To actively work in client service and retention, placement broking, claims management and negotiation, and change projects relating to the improvement of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the servicing of a number of client accounts, undertaking client facing functions ensuring that the clients receive excellent insurance advice and service and have all embracing cover to protect their businesses and property portfolios so that they remain with Realty over the long term.

Participate in special projects necessary to deliver client service such as negotiating existing policy wordings with underwriters and insurance aspects of bank finance agreements.

Encourage further business from existing clients by identifying cross selling opportunities and requesting referrals and introductions.

Maintain effective relationships with the underwriting community and negotiating terms with underwriters.

Maintain relationships with loss adjusters and deliver claims service to secure best outcomes for clients.

Collaborate with other team members in servicing the company's client portfolio and assisting colleagues with technical insurance questions and issues

Adhere to compliance procedures and maintain quality control to ensure that customers are treated fairly at all times and remain with Realty in the long term.

Participate in special projects to deliver corporate objectives and change relating to the improvement of the business.

Key Competencies

3-5 years insurance industry experience, ideally as an account executive working with High and Mid Net Worth and private clients.

Knowledge and experience of principal underwriting markets.

Confidence and presence to promote and represent the company.

Microsoft Office competency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The personal qualities of the candidate will be critical in deciding the most suitable individual to fill this post. They will be personable, confident and highly credible in front of clients. They will be well organised, have a strong work ethic, good communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to providing quality service.

Most importantly they will be proactive, be prepared to 'roll up their sleeves', and have sufficient technical knowledge and experience to 'pick up and run' with the full variety of client servicing requirements, thereby building long term customer relationships and referrals.

Desirable Experiences

Experience of claims management.

Progress in Chartered Insurance Institute examinations.
