Job Description
The End-to-end Systems team (approx. 10) is responsible for delivering technical aspects of studies and projects within Earth Observation and Science (EOS) and supporting activities in Telecoms and Navigation missions; undertaking R&D activities and the development of advanced products including Earth Observation (EO) ground segment elements and navigation user equipment.
Role Description
Within the End-to-end Systems organisation, the Space Systems Solution Architect acts as the lead for defining architectural solutions to meet end-to-end system needs.
You will be responsible for generating optimise bespoke solutions concepts based on a detailed understanding of existing and emerging technologies.
In addition, as the Solutions Architect, you will be required to support systems engineers in: requirements capture; architecture definition and system design; performance analysis. The Solutions Architect is the owner of the solution within the end-to-end system scope.
Main Responsibilities
Experience
End-to-end Systems or system-of-systems architecture and systems engineering in space or defence, ideally across the entire engineering lifecycle.
Ground Segment engineering and operation
GNSS systems and signals
Security and secure systems
Working within an environment controlled strictly through an established Quality system
Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of Satellite systems (ground, space and user) for EO and Navigation including knowledge of underlying existing and emerging technologies
Engineering life cycles for ground and space segment
Quality standards
Qualification
A degree in Electrical, Electronic engineering, mathematics or physics or similar experience
Desirable: GNSS systems and signals, SAR systems, satellite ground systems, security aspects of space systems.
Additional Requirements
You will be expected to work with classified material in some cases.
Occasional / infrequent travel to support project activities and milestone is expected.
The successful candidate will be subject to UK SC Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
