We are looking for an applicant who is bright, well-organised, enthusiastic and committed to access to justice. The role is a unique opportunity to work closely with the CEO to ensure the smooth delivery of LAG's magazine, books and training. The successful candidate will get to attend interesting events, develop their writing skills and be part of the dynamic LAG team. As LAG is at the heart of the social justice lawyering community, the successful candidate will work closely with our partner organisations including leading law firms, chambers and NGOs. What we do: LAG supports and empowers those providing legal services and using the law to achieve justice for those who are disadvantaged, unable to speak for themselves or who struggle to be heard, by: Publishing and disseminating accessible, high quality, authoritative and up to date legal information and knowledge. Delivering education and training and creating opportunities for the exchange of ideas. Being an authoritative voice speaking up for justice and improving law and practice. Job Description To coordinate operations for a small and dynamic team to deliver LAG's mission promoting access to justice. Principal duties: Training and events -Assisting the CEO with background research, inviting speakers, organising venues and attending events -Arranging online and in person seminars/conferences/training and dealing with marketing of events, preparation of brochures, sending out training material and customer queries -Drafting website and social media posts Magazine & books -Magazine renewals -Bulk book orders -Relationship management of key accounts -Posting job adverts -Constant Contact mailout -Developing marketing eg. podcasts and building a social media profile Customer services & administration -Assisting customer service when cover required for customer queries -Setting up users on the website/ebooks -Point of contact for subscription agencies -Attend and take notes at meetings, including staff meetings and external meetings as required -Co-ordinate staff meetings and sub-groups, including collating and circulating papers, coordinating logistics and meeting spaces (in person or online) -General administrative support Person Specification Personal Qualities Committed to the core values and objectives of the organisation Friendly and approachable Self-motivated and ability to prioritise own workload A 'can do' positive attitude Abilities Organised with good attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline Positive attitude to problem solving Confident to work unsupervised on own and as part of a team Energetic and resilient attitude Skills and knowledge Strong interest in access to justice issues Professional approach to work and strong interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent IT skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Eventbrite Well-developed knowledge of all the main social media platforms Excellent time management and organisational skills Please send a CV and covering letter, of no more than two pages, addressing the criteria in the Personal Specification
