About the role

Collaborating across the IP team, Research, Design and Development (RDD) teams and outside counsel, you'll be managing IP risk and deliver strategic value and legal advice. You'll be heavily involved in supporting exciting new technologies and global, high-profile, early-stage projects, which span a diverse range of categories including health and beauty, energy storage, digital motors and robotics.

Advising the business on a wide range of IP issues, key responsibilities will include:

Reviewing invention disclosure forms.
Engaging with outside counsel to support patent drafting activities.
Prosecuting patent applications globally, to deliver strategically relevant patents in a cost effective manner.
Advising the business on potential risks relating to third parties' rights, through analysing freedom-to-operate searches and challenging the validity of third party rights.
Supporting IP ownership and licensing aspects of collaboration, research and development agreements.
Educating Dyson on IP related processes and reporting regularly to our teams on the delivery of IP services.

This role will be based full time on-site, at our state-of-the-art technology campus in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

About you

You'll be a qualified and experienced UK and/or European Patent Attorney (soon to be or recently) with a strong technical background and relevant experience in either Chemical/Materials Science, or Mechanical/Electro-mechanical fields.

You'll be very collaborative, with the ability to communicate IP matters to non-IP people in a clear and concise manner. You'll also be proactive, demonstrating willingness to own and develop areas of responsibility ands be able to work in a very fast paced, ever-changing environment.
