Independent Non-Executive Director for the Women's Football Board This is an incredibly exciting time for women and girls' football, following on from the successful UEFA Women's Euro 2022 tournament where England were proud hosts and victorious in bringing the trophy home. There has been expediential growth over the last 4 years in participation and the number of fans watching matches, but there is now an opportunity to build on the success of winning the UEFA Women's EURO's and to drive women's and girls' football forward.
The Women's Football Board is seeking to appoint an additional independent non-executive director 1 preferably with expertise in the field of commercial and marketing to achieve this, and to bring further expertise and experience to guide, challenge and advise on delivering against the four-year strategy 'Inspiring Positive Change' that was launched in October 2020.
The strategy pledges to create a sustainable future for women's and girls' football in England.
The strategy centres around the delivery of eight main objectives:
- Early Participation - Every primary school-aged girl to have equal access to football in school and in clubs
- Development Participation - Every girl to have equal access to participate, compete and excel in the game
- Football For All - A motivated, diverse range of local leaders organising football for their communities
- Club Player Pathway - An effective high-performance, inclusive player-centred pathway
- Elite Women's Leagues and Competitions - The best professional women's sports leagues and competitions in the world
- England - Win a major tournament
- Coaching - Exceptional coaches at every level of the game who are representative of our society
- Refereeing - Every female referee afforded high-quality bespoke learning new and development opportunities from grassroots through to the elite game

Independence Criteria" means that the person is not a member of Council or an employee, director or officer (other than in an honorary position) of, or has a Material Business Relationship with, a competition sanctioned by The FA, a County Association or an Other Football Association (or any body which administers such a competition), a County Association, an Other Football Association, an Affiliated Organisation, a Full Member Club, an Associate Member Club, FIFA, UEFA (or any of its members, associations or confederations) or The FA (other than in capacity as an Independent Member);
The Women's Football Board reports directly to the main FA Board and is responsible for making recommendations in relation to all strategic and operational matters regarding women's and girls' football, excluding any matters relating to the Competitions. The Women's Football Board control and manage the Women's Football Pyramid with the newly formed Women's National League Board reporting into the Women's Football Board. The Women's Football Board meets six times a year.
You will have a passion for women's sport/ football and the value it can bring to society, and you will have experience of influencing at board or senior executive level. Expertise in commercial and marketing would be beneficial.
An allowance can be claimed for each meeting attended, in addition to travel and subsistence expenses.
