MULTI SKILLED ENGINEER

to £45,000 per annum

SHIFT

GLENROTHES

A great opportunity has arisen for a multi skilled maintenance engineer to join the team at their manufacturing site in Glenrothes.

The purpose of the role is to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise and provide effective, flexible support across the plant. To deputise for the shift lead hand when required.

Key responsibilities of Multi Skilled Engineer:
  • To have a good understanding of safety and environmental legislation and HSE compliance.
  • Handle materials safely, demonstrating the highest regard for the environment and our safety.
  • To adhere to the site Permit to Work systems and follow all stipulated controls.
  • To assess the risks associated with all work carried out and take adequate precautions, including hazard identification and elimination.
  • To carry out the most appropriate and effective repairs to mechanical, electrical, electronic plant in line with engineering standards and legislative requirements.
  • To support the Planned Preventative Maintenance system, ensuring actions are completed in line with requirements.
  • Modification and improvement of machinery and the plant.
  • Contribute to engineering drawings and documentation husbandry, ensuring they are kept up to date and in compliance with appropriate standards and legislation.
  • To support process improvements and be receptive to change to develop working practices within the Engineering/Maintenance team.
  • Supervision of trainees and contractors.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and presentation and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within all working areas.
  • Carry out shift hand-overs as appropriate and act as deputy for lead hand when not available

Key Requirements of Multi Skilled Engineer:

  • Minimum academic qualification of time served apprenticeship, ONC, HNC preferred

  • Knowledge and experience of welding/burning, machining, pipe work and fitting.
  • Understanding and experience of routine preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to use fault finding and diagnostic techniques.
  • Ability to read and amend technical drawings as required.
