The Talent Set are excited to be partnering with the British Red Cross to find their new Communications Planning Manager.
This role is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role offers a wonderful flexible working environment and is offered as a fully remote home working position. Offices work is also available in the British Red Cross London office for those who prefer a hybrid working pattern.

The Communications Planning Manager has responsibility for managing effective planning, monitoring and reporting across the directorate. Working closely with the Head of Strategic Communications and the Strategic Communications Planning Partners, they will support the co-ordination and implementation of audience-focussed, channel-agnostic communications plans, which help deliver against the organisational strategic business plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the forums and processes through which all cross-organisational public engagement activity is prioritised, providing expert advice to ensure the plans drive forward our organisational ambitions
Drive the planning and prioritisation of communications and advocacy activity, working with the wider Strategic Communications team to ensure that it engages all of our priority audiences and is fully integrated across channels and teams
Manage our annual, quarterly and weekly planning cycle, helping to set communications priorities for the short, medium and long-term
Scan the external environment and triage incoming requests for communications support, to help identify new or emerging communications opportunities or risks
Work with the Directorate Management team to set and report against evidence-based KPIs, which allows the directorate to measure success in a consistent and meaningful way and which facilitates a culture of continuous improvement
To do this the right candidate will have experience in the following:
Able to demonstrate experience and continual learning in the field of communications or a similar discipline
Knowledge of strategic planning, particularly communications planning.
Prioritisation and time management skills
Competent user of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access, and the internet
Excellent written and verbal English language skills
Experience of managing communications projects from inception to evaluation
Experience of planning and budgeting
