Summary
The Legacy and Supporter Care team work tirelessly to process donations and generate income to fund groundbreaking research, provide funds to amplify our voice by relentless campaigning and ensure that our services are there when they are needed the most. The team delivers high levels of legacy income to support the Versus Arthritis ambition and vision, whilst leveraging our infrastructure to maximise efficiencies to drive growth in both our income and supporter base. We re the team that listens, supports and enables colleagues, peers and volunteers to demand more for people with arthritis.
About the role
The Legacy Administrator role is crucial in supporting the care and stewardship of gifts in wills supporters, lay executors and family members of our generous donors. You will be patient, empathetic, compassionate and sensitive in your correspondence and tone when communicating with them, demonstrating the Versus Arthritis values; giving strength when it is needed, never stopping the search for answers and working better together.
You will be responsible for running your own legacy files, overseen by the Legacy Administration Manager to maximise income to continue funding developments for breakthrough treatments, enable relentless campaigning for arthritis to be seen as a priority and ensuring support is provided when it is needed. This will require effective communication, efficient time and diary management, flexibility in approach to challenges and excellent organisational skills.
Key requirements
The Legacy Administrator will join the Legacy Administration team, overseeing the receipt of gifts left in wills to Versus Arthritis. This is a fast-paced team with over 900 open files and requires excellent attention to detail. We are also looking for the following skills:
Experience of performing successfully in a high-volume administrative role, which has required you to effectively manage your own workload.
Working in an environment that requires flexibility of outlook to meet constantly changing problems and challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor correspondence to the appropriate audience.
Excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation
Confidence in using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
The ability to use initiative while also being a team player. Work collaboratively across the team, directorate and wider organisation to ensure delivery of the strategic goals and objectives.
Process driven with a methodical approach and a good level of accuracy.
Have an empathetic ear, patience and understanding as staple skills, together with the ability to speak compassionately and sensitively to bereaved families.
