Job Title: Training Manager
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £36,000
Reports to: Heads of Services
Location: Brockley, London and Home Working
Introduction
We are seeking an experienced training manager to design and implement our new training programme for frontline professionals. This programme will increase the capability and capacity of the workforce who engage with families impacted by child sexual abuse. Through skilling up staff and volunteers to be better informed, more competent, and self-aware, the training will improve service delivery effectiveness, leading to better outcomes for all. This will ultimately lead to more discussion around the issue of child sexual abuse and an increased likelihood that other families will come forward.
Mosac receives calls everyday from protective parents and carers whose children have been sexually abused. They often come to us feeling ignored or let down by Social Services, Family Court, and other services. Our clients have described the period of navigating the statutory agencies as being as traumatic as the initial disclosure of abuse. In our response to the Ministry of Justice Call for Evidence (2019), 71% of families affected by Child Sexual Abuse said that if they had their time again, they would not come forward. This project focus on improving the understanding and practice of professionals who work with families who have been impacted by Child Sexual Abuse. For families, this improved practice will result in improved recovery for families, decrease in the impact of the abuse, improved health and wellbeing of families as they navigate the system. For professionals the project will increase their understanding of Child Sexual Abuse and the wider impact on families and therefore increase confidence to support families
From our experience, we know that there are no recognised comprehensive professional development opportunities for those working with our client group. There is a significant gap in provision of training and support for those on the frontline. Our partners, which include the police, social services, and schools, tell us that they do not feel confident identifying abuse, dealing with disclosures, or supporting families through their trauma.
Mosac Background
Mosac has been delivering unique support services for the families of victims of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) for nearly 30 years. In a safe environment, we offer free services to families affected by CSA, all of whom are vulnerable with some being excluded, or facing other forms of hardship. We enable families to achieve and sustain an improved quality of life by rebuilding confidence, alleviating isolation, improving well-being and resilience, promoting inclusion and empowering individuals to move on with their lives, with the skills and knowledge to safeguard themselves and their children in the future.
We are at a critical point in our development as we reach our 30th anniversary. We will be transitioning from a organisation with national reach through our helpline to a national organisations with online services that are able to deliver all of our services to clients across the UK and regional face-to-face work in multiple locations in England and Wales. Alongside our geographical expansion, we will be expanding the range of services to provide more holistic support to families who have affected by CSA, this currently includes plans to develop parent and child relational play service, family therapy, counselling for young people and a program of work to support professional in statutory and voluntary sector services to better understand CSA and to work more closely with non-abusing parents to provide support to the victims of CSA.

This will help prevent re-victimisation and ultimately improve the mental health and recovery time of the families involved.
