Are you a proactive and ambitious graduate (or equivalent) looking for arole within the PR industry?
Media Relations is a crucialpart of this PR agencys offering and you will be keyin developing relationships with stakeholders whilst building your media network. Clients will think youre impressive.
Journalists will tweet about how great you are and your colleagues will love you.
You will work with various client teams to:
Support the team in developing compelling media stories on behalf of the clients.
Maintain and expand the database of media contacts and build relationships with key journalists
Manage media pitches (youll have the support of account teams, but you will be doing a lot of the pitching yourself).
Liaise with clients, journalists and the account teams to make sure that journalists get all the information they need from their clients, and have a positive experience dealing with the media.
Follow up to ensure media interactions result in coverage.
You are that person if you:
Are a people person journalists dont want to talk to robots they want engaging interactions with human beings genuinely interested in their beat. They also like to be occasionally wined and dined!
Are genuinely interested in the news and how public relations influences the news agenda. This is super important if the news agenda fascinates you, youll be well suited to this role.
Are a lateral thinker you will follow all the journalists on Twitter writing about UK enterprise and connect what theyre tweeting about with their clients
Are confident, happy networking and have a thick skin along with excellent powers of persuasion
Are a keen learner the agency use a range of digital tools to be more efficient at media outreach and increase their chances of success, but they also understand theres no substitute for solid research into an influencers remit.
Are a pleasure to work with and a team player youre considerate of colleagues, generally great to have around, and punctual youll be a vital cog in a well-tuned machine so your ability to work with client managers, copywriters and digital specialists is really important.
Are a creative thinker not every pitch will result in success, so its important to be able to rotate a story until you find the right angle for the right journalist.
Are courageous and determined sometimes theres no substitute for a bit of grit and determination!

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Journalism or PR ideally or have completed an internship or two in PR\/Comms alongside a more traditional degree subject.
