Working onsite at Drax Power Station, you'll spend the first 12- 18 months learning about the plant environment alongside the Control & Instrument team including the plant networks that keep all of the communications together. As you move through this year you will start to assist in understanding how we implement and maintain a robust cyber security presence.

After this you'll then join the Drax Cyber Security Team to further enhance skills learned across Operational Technology in delivering cyber security controls via projects across the Drax landscape, including Hydro and Biomass Pellet facilities.

It's a fast-paced and varied role, and a great opportunity to develop your career in cyber security with a specific focus on Operational Technology.

Day-to-day responsibilities initially will be learning on the job with identified mentors within the plant C&I team. After this you'll be maintaining and developing technology for the Operational Technology (OT) Security Operations Centre, supporting senior management in the delivery of the Drax?cyber?security plan and assisting in the management of the audit and review process.

Another key aspect of the role will be monitoring?and assessing risks?that could impact on the OT?environments. It's an opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders, from C&I Engineering and Plant Support teams to IT Operations teams. You'll provide support in?identifying emerging threats, conducting analysis and writing intelligence reports specifying how best to mitigate the associated risks.??

So, what experience do you need? Ideally, you'll have an academic or professional background in Cyber Security and/ or an understanding of Operational Technology /C&I. Alongside this, you'll need a good understanding of network security technologies and processes. This includes an understanding of current and emerging security threats and an awareness of systems and methods to counter them.
