My client a global brand and leading telecoms organisation seek a specialist, Mobile Cloud Core Solution Reliability Engineer or Mobile Cloud Operations Engineer, to provide 2nd/3rd line support of the Mobile Cloud Core estate in the Mobile Cloud Core Operations team. Mobile Cloud Core Operations are accountable for the smooth and cost effective running of the mobile cloud core network and its associated services. Team members support incident, change & problem management as well as project related work.

Core experience required for the Mobile Cloud Operations Engineer position:

• Come from a Mobile Cloud Core background within the telecoms Industry.
• Excellent understanding of the Containerisation, Kubernetes, Juniper SDN and Openstack environments.
• Be conversant with virtual network tenant technologies.
• Receiving Security scan report results and Implementing highlighted patches using change management.
• Ensuring patches/changes have been tested (nonproduction and by vendor).
• Keeping audit of teams hardware and licencing details.

Other experience required for the Mobile Cloud Operations Engineer position:

• Technical Certification and training within the Network Cloud technologies.
• Exposure to system performance, diagnosis and investigations.
• Kubernetes, Juniper and Openstack vendor led training accreditation.
• Use of OSS tools to support performance related issues.
• Experience of dealing with 3rd party vendor support.
• Experience in Scripting languages (eg Bash & Perl).
• Exposure to Virtual technologies (ESX and ESXi).
• System patching tools.
• Windows Active Directory and LDAP.
• Integrate Servers with Centralised syslog management tools (eg Siem).

You will be responsible for specifying, building, securing and supporting environments that enable subscriber services to function within a mobile phone cloud core network.

You will have both the technical skills and proven experience to support the following areas:

• System Administration.
• Primarily Ericsson Packet Core Gateway and Oracle Pre-Pay Control Function software.
• Good knowledge of Security Vulnerabilities across the IT industry and experience of Security Hardening strategy and practice.
• Driving best practice in Data Security concepts and protection systems.
• Administrative tasks - monitoring, backups, user admin, vulnerability scanning.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support of the Mobile Cloud Packet Core estate.
