Part-time long-term tutoring role; supporting year 6 students preparing for SAT's and school transitions.

The school is currently considered an Ofsted Good school, actively working towards an Outstanding rating, with this being an underpinning focus for the school ethos and progression within the school. Your new role

With a current focus on Covid-19 catch-up and preparing students for the transition into secondary; the school are seeking a confident and experienced tutor to support their year 6 class.

This is a part-time role starting in January; ideally the school are looking for a tutor to join their team to support students in a variety of different ways; including:

- 1:1 tutoring support for SATs preparation
- Small group tutoring support for transition preparation
- Targeted tutoring to support progression intervention

The role is a supporting and nurturing role; with the ideal candidate not only supporting their academic progress and intervention, but also preparing them for the transition into the secondary school environment. There are a variety of responsibilities for this role; including:

- Supporting academic development towards SATs targets
- Reporting to the class teacher
- Monitoring progression and tailoring tutoring approach to support development
- Building positive and long-lasting relationships with students, that promote life-long learning

The school are keen to ensure their year 6 student receive the support; and to ensure this is provided consistently across the week are looking for a tutor to support their students for 2 hours per day, across three days per week. There is flexibility on the days required, however due to current timetabling and school structure, this would need to be arranged as soon as possible.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in this role, there are several requirements.

It is essential that you have a minimum of 40 days experience working with children, within the last two years; this needs to be reference-able positions.

The school are ideally looking for a qualified teacher for this position, however this would be a perfect position for an ECT or NQT! With a truly unique start to your teaching career, this would be a brilliant way to begin your career and gain experience supporting a very unique situation, providing a substantial foundation for a successful key stage 2 teaching career.

Preferably, the ideal candidate would have previous experience tutoring; whether this is private tutoring or public tutoring. Confidence and experience supporting upper key stage two is essential for this role.

Applicants for this role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, a current DBS on the update service is preferable, if not the ability to pay for a new DBS is essential.
