GrantTree is an innovation funding consultancy specialising in R&D Tax Credits, innovation grant funding, and Video Games Tax Relief. We work with some of the UK's most innovative companies, helping them to maximise their government funding opportunities. We have ambitious plans for 2021 and are looking for bright, motivated, and conscientious people to expand our R&D tax Team.
That's where you come in!
As Senior Financial Consultant, you'll be helping GrantTree's clients file a maximised, fully-compliant claim for R&D Tax Credits. You will be supporting the inquiry negotiating team to share your experience and deep understanding of the R&D Tax Relief scheme, conduct significant pre-sales work and take responsibility for providing sign-off on organisational structures, and providing knowledge around niche areas of tax. You will also be assisting our Enquiry Defence team, helping new and existing clients resolve HMRC compliance checks.
On a typical day you might
Work closely with our client's founders and technical leads, building a rapport and preparing the financial aspects of their R&D claims.
Proactively provide advice to clients on legal and legislative changes to the R&D Tax Credits scheme.
Connect with internal stakeholders on internal and external deadlines.
Suggest an improvement to our R&D Tax Credits delivery process, helping to improve our clients' experience.
You will also attend regular video meetings and participate in process improvements and help generate solutions to our clients' R&D tax matters.
Staying abreast of all changes in tax law and precedent
Requirements
Advanced experience in delivering tax credits claims, or equivalent, including in-depth knowledge of the CIRD and BIS guidelines beyond what typically qualifies and how relief is calculated with various trading positions and between the schemes.
Intermediate knowledge of non-R&D specific tax legislation such as Group Relief, Accruals, Asset vs. Expense.
Experience servicing a large client book of clients featuring both SMEs and large companies and deliver more value to these clients.
Confident working on tight deadlines while maintaining high service levels and attention to detail.
Examines accounts of industrial, commercial, and other establishments to determine their tax liability.
Benefits
For this role, the salary will be £35000- £50000 depending on experience. In addition to your salary, we are offering a place where you can be yourself, develop your skills and fulfill your potential. You will need to be at our beautiful co-working space FORA in Shoreditch for 2-3 days a week while you train up and also in order to collaborate with your colleagues on projects. The remaining 2-3 days a week, you're welcome to work from wherever you want.
