We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join us as Minibus Driver at our Blenham House Nursing Home in Edinburgh. This post is for 30 hours per week worked over 3 days. You will provide safe and enjoyable transport for our residents. Blenham House is a 60 bedded care home a few miles west of Edinburgh city centre, a well-known care home at the heart of the community. Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Knowledge of 'Care of the elderly'
• Experience of driving large vehicles and a clean driving license which allows driving of the company minibus
• The ability to maintain a positive, helpful attitude at all times
• Clear and concise communicator with excellent listening skills
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation
Job Purpose
Randolph Hill Group operates nursing homes offering long and short-term care to those with particular needs, especially frail elderly people. Each home's philosophy is to provide competent, skilled and empathetic individual care. Provide a flexible service to enhance activities outside the nursing home
Ensure the minibus is in good repair and presents a well-cared for look in keeping with the company image
Uphold residents' participation strategy
Treat colleagues with respect and ensure teamwork is good
Main responsibilities
To report any maintenance problems to the Director of Nursing Homes Operations
To keep records of servicing and legislative checks and diary these checks to make sure the minibus is roadworthy
To ensure quotes are received from recognised garage and agreement from superiors reached before authorisation being given
To attend to general maintenance and cleanliness of the minibus
To ensure paintwork is in good repair internally and externally
To purchase materials for repairs from local suppliers
To maintain company equipment to a safe and efficient level
To ensure residents are safe to travel whether in minibus seats or wheelchairs
To assist residents on and off the minibus, taking instruction from home staff on individual resident's capabilities
To maintain confidentiality over residents information
