Health and Safety Officer

• NEBOSH Health and Safety Officer (x2)
• Exeter, Devon
• c£38,000 per year
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension, Bonus etc.

Skills and Experience:

• Providing my client's employees and sub-contractors with health and safety advice and maintain good level of legal awareness and operational understanding
• Supplying the required guidance and advice on Health and Safety matters to all stakeholders
• Collaborate with managers and contractors to improve safety, health and environmental compliance
• Conducting internal audits and inspections as required to ensure general compliance with company policies and procedures
• Providing support and mentoring to managers, supervisors, employees and contractors on SHE procedures, processes and legal compliance to build awareness and competencies
• Undertaking investigations and providing good quality reports to assist in the establishment of the root causes and preventative measures
• Deliver training and coaching sessions including toolbox talks and Health and Safety inductions, where appropriate
• Undertaking Health and Safety Risk Assessments in respect of our client's work processes and ensuring implementation of agreed risk control measures and working with managers to develop safe systems of work
• Conduct contractor and supplier health and safety assessments for tender and continued assessment
• Assist in the collection of SHE information and statistics for monthly reports
• Undertake quality audits and support business in preparing for ISO and other quality standards if required
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety is highly preferred

My client working within the telecoms sector are currently looking to recruit for a couple of Health and Safety Officers on a permanent basis to join a successful team operating out of their offices in Exeter. The key focus of this role is to provide competent and professional health and safety advice throughout my clients business, and to ensure that the company and all contractors are conforming to relevant legislation and best practice, whilst promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging continuous improvement across all work activities: This will be achieved via site audits, incident investigation, and monitoring the implementation of robust processes and procedures.
