About the role:
City and Islington College are looking to recruit hourly paid experienced classroom assistants to work at their centres with learners with EHCPs who have support and learning needs. Students range from those with moderate learning disabilities, Autistic spectrum, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH), severe learning disabilities and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
About you:
We are currently seeking to recruit an excellent Learning Support Assistant. This is a great opportunity to work and support students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (including emotional and/or behavioural difficulties) within a Further Education setting. You will be expected to differentiate and facilitate learning according to the student need. You may be working 1:1 and as a floating support with students. You will be expected to liaise with subject tutors and personal tutors regarding the needs of individual students. We are particularly keen to receive applications from prospective employees who have worked with young people with challenging behaviour, and those who have a can-do attitude to towards working with young people with additional needs which are sometimes complex.
