Reporting of the Role

This role collaborates with the Technical Lead for Sales Operations

Overview of job

The Commercial Technology team are part of the Technology & Digital Department. We develop and maintain the products that drive the commercial revenues at Global for both the Radio and Outdoor parts of the business. We are passionate about 4 areas of the business:

  • Sales Operations (opportunity management and campaign details);
  • Trading (campaign planning and booking);
  • Fulfilment (campaign delivery); and
  • Programmatic (audio and outdoor digital ad platform).

This role is at the heart of the Sales Operations team, with Salesforce.com being our core platform for opportunity & pipeline management as well as customer data. The role involves ensuring the platform and coordinated applications evolve to power our sales team as our business expands as well as ensuring it is fully supported for day to day operations.

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have

  • Understood our current implementation and usage of Salesforce and associated applications.
  • Gained knowledge of the implementation and team, to enable us to reduce our reliance on third party contractors for build and support.
  • Built up a point of view of where we retire, replace or expand the pieces of functionality in order to drive a more efficient sales operation.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Analyse business requirements, translating those requirements into solutions using the Salesforce platform.
  • Assist in the estimation of work effort and set a realistic schedule for technical implementation.
  • Delivering timely and relevant information with the ability to quickly identify and report project risks.
  • Provide mentorship on solution requirements, technical design, integration architecture, and solution recommendations.
  • Implement new enhancements including creation of custom objects, workflows, validation rules, approval processes, flows, flow triggers and email alerts.
  • Integrate Salesforce with other platforms.
  • Implementation change control from development sandboxes to production and across the development lifecycle. Ensure that all vital changes are detailed, reviewed, tested, and approved before being deployed.
  • Develop reports, custom report types, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity.
  • Lead security, users, roles, profiles, groups, queues and other Salesforce.com setup options as necessary.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on items related to Salesforce and third party integrations.
  • Remain current on new Salesforce features and functionality and providing recommendations for process improvements.

What you will need

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ yrs of proven experience building components of a Salesforce system in the effort to support core business processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Salesforce.com technical architecture.
  • Solid understanding with custom objects, page layouts, profiles, permissions, workflows, approval processes, flows and flow triggers.
  • Experience in versioning objects, workflows and other settings and maintaining them across multiple sandboxes.
  • Hands-on experience with reports, dashboards, and data management/manipulation.
  • Experience integrating 3rd party applications to Salesforce.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with customization on the Salesforce Lightning platform which should include: Lightning Components using the Lightning Design System framework, Apex, Apex data loader, and declarative platform tools. (Process Builder, Visual Workflow, Lightning App Builder, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and be creative within a team
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Jitterbit Admin functions(adding users, upgrades)
  • Experience building components of a Salesforce system to integrate with Jitterbit
  • Experience in Agile development methodology/Scrum.
  • Experience in Pardot implementation, configuration, data migration, and working with the Salesforce Connector.
  • Experience developing for Salesforce Communities and Lightning App Builder

Ideally the holder of the role will also have:

  • Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification
  • Salesforce Lightning Component Framework Specialist
  • Salesforce Lightning Experience Specialist
