You will work with a dual qualified doctor and lawyer providing you with the rare opportunity to expand both your legal and medical knowledge of managing Clinical Negligence cases.Your caseload will be Clinical Negligence work, specialising in Spinal Cord injury cases. Previous knowledge of this would be beneficial, however for the right candidate who is willing to learn we would seek to support you if you were able to demonstrate this commitment. We would also be very open if you are someone who has a healthcare or charity background through your work or through extra curriculum activities. We would be eager to find out why you? Key responsibilities Technical ability and knowledge management
  • To assist on Clinical Negligence cases by helping the Lawyer to liaise with the clients and other parties involved in the case, preparing documents and letters.
  • To assist in the collating of medical evidence to include requesting and sorting medical records. To assist with researching medicolegal experts, drafting instructions to experts and arranging appointments.
  • To assist in collating evidence where possible, to include but not exclusively preparing witness statements and simple schedules of loss.
  • To deal with the initial calls of prospective clients and to take information from them about their potential claim.
  • To have flexibility and a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of supporting the team.
  • To undertake any specific training to improve or enhance skill base as requested.
  • To be proficient in IT and confident is using the various IT applications in accordance with the training provided.
