As a Lead Systems Engineer you will act as a key driver to define the architecture of the application compute system of our next hybrid microprocessor/microcontroller product generation. This position can be filled in Munich, Duisburg, Langen, Bristol or Dublin. Responsibilities
In your new role you will:
- Define the architecture of the Application Compute System including local memories, caches and the interconnect concept among the heterogeneous components
- Ensure the right sourcing strategy of Application Compute based on our application assumptions together with the platform architects
- Provide the consistency between HW-SW concept for the Application Compute System with respect to key applications such as modern zone & domain controller and central car compute companion
- Ensure together with our SW team an ease of software development
- Drive together with the platform lead architects a platform differentiation strategies with respect to dependability and availability in a hybrid SoC-SiP concept
- Close cooperation with stakeholders in the organization and other business lines within Infineon
- Ensure cost competitiveness and compatibility of the platform with respect to automotive quality and safety requirements
- Establish methodologies for the application core system
- Expert consulting of line and project management including clear technical direction setting regarding lean development and cost-awareness
Your Profile

You are best equipped for those tasks if you have:
- A degree in electrical engineering, physics or a similar field
- At least 10 years of professional experience as concept and design system engineer for microprocessor-based products
- Profound familiarity with automotive microcontrollers and open eyes & ears for market trends
- Expertise with different CPU architectures like ARM, ARC or PPC and heterogeneous compute architectures
- Strong experience with designing memory hierarchies - e.g. cache architectures, cache L2/L3 caches, coherency
- Proven knowledge with implementing clocking, power, reset architectures and state of the art Network on Chip offerings
- Proven practical experience with simulation systems - e.g. OVP, GEM5, QEMU or FPGA based
- Know-how in system modeling based on Matlab/Simulink script language
- Expertise with floorplan & physical constraints and designing Microcontroller as well as Microprocessor
- Expertise with operating systems and virtualization & hypervisor SW
- Hands-on experience in product architecture documentation and requirements management
- Excellent English communications skills and ideally a good command of German
