This position can be filled in Munich, Duisburg, Bristol (UK) or Langen. Responsibilities
In your new role you will:
- Define the design system platform for our next hybrid microprocessor/microcontroller generation based on leading-edge automotive CMOS technologies and utilizing standard industry tools, flows, and methods
- Ensure the seamless integration of external 3rd party foundation IP (e.g. standard cells, SRAMs and I/Os) as well as complex physical IP (e.g. COM and LPDDR PHYS, mixed signal components) under consideration of automotive quality requirements
- Own and drive design and implementation strategies for heterogeneous SoC and SiP with high performance compute (GHz CPUs, co-processors and accelerators), high-speed communication subsystems and a multilevel memory hierarchy
- Close cooperation with different teams such as IP sourcing teams, technology experts, product development teams, quality/reliability experts and central design enablement teams
- Own and drive differentiation strategies wrt. KPI optimal implementation, availability, safety, security, and automotive quality
- Establish methodologies for platform chipset design incl. SoC-Package-SiP co-design
- Expert consulting of line and project management incl. clear technical direction setting wrt. to lean development and cost-awareness
Your Profile

You are best equipped for those tasks if you have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field
- At least 15 years of experience as Design System Engineer for advanced CMOS technologies and complex heterogeneous SoCs, Hands-on design experience is required
- Expert knowledge in design and RTL-to-GDS flows, state-of-the art tools, foundation IPs, PDKs, timing sign-off, memory generators, I/O and standard cell libraries
- Rich experience in technology-design interdependencies for FinFET based CMOS nodes
- Ability to understand platform requirements and design trade-offs
- Excellent technical leadership capabilities combined with good communication skills
- The ability to work in cross-functional teams and a multi-cultural environment
- Functional Safety and Security experience is a plus (e.g. experience with development according to ISO26262 or IEC61508 and ISO21434)
- Fluent English communication is a must; German is appreciated
