About the role
Here at DS Smith we are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our Packaging Division site at Burscough. We are looking for a passionate and driven Supply Chain professional who is looking to challenge themselves in a growing sustainability focused organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, the Production Manager and General Manager of the Burscough site to ensure production needs are met in line with site/cluster sales activity.
You will have experience of leading and motivating large teams, with the responsibility of leading site Customer Service, Logistic and Production Planning teams. You and your team will drive efficient and effective scheduling of machine capacity and distribution networks to ensure reliable sales and customer service levels are met.
You will have a passion for continuous improvement, continually looking to set and drive efficiency targets within Customer Services, Planning and Transport. You will strive to optimise conversion and logistics costs as well as develop effective supplier relations for all raw materials. Working closely with the sales teams you will understand demand analysis and conduct in-depth forecasting which will be pivotal to the success of this role, as a result strong computer literacy and Excel skills will be needed.
We are looking for a leader who can motivate, develop and inspire the Supply Chain function to continually exceed and deliver to our customer expectations.
About you
Minimum requirements:
Experience in Supply Chain Management (preferably within an FMCG environment)
Knowledge of Logistics, Manufacturing and Scheduling
Excellent rapport and stakeholder management skills
Strong computer literacy, particularly in excel
Experience in managing teams
Forecasting, demand analysis experience
