Job Description:Housekeeping Assistant
(Housekeeping/Laundry)
Responsible to: Housekeeping Supervisor
Accountable to: Registered Manager
Salary : £8.92
Location: Basingstoke
Hours : 30- 37.5 hours per week ( alternate weekends)
There is Am and Afternoon shifts available
The main duties of the Assistant are to be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the Home at all times. To work as part of a team, providing as far as possible a happy, stable and stimulating environment.
Duties of the post:
- Ensure all toilets, bathrooms (sinks, baths, showers), bedrooms, corridors, sitting rooms are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and replenished as needed.
- Be responsible for emptying all bins
- Ensure floors are thoroughly washed and maintained and that warning signs used when appropriate
- Ensure that each room is cleaned thoroughly once a week - this will include the task of ensuring all furniture is moved out and the room hoovered
- Ensure all paint work is kept clean and ensure windows sills, staircases etc are cleaned regularly
- Complete daily cleaning records, undertake laundry duties as directed by Services Supervisor
- Cover staff absences - holidays and sickness if required
- Attend staff training
- Participate in all staff meetings
Personal and Professional Development
- To undertake continuous personal development with support and guidance from Supervisor
- To actively participate in supervision
- To participate in Training and keep a record of mandatory and other training and development activities
Confidentiality and Data Security
- To comply fully with the duties and responsibilities outlines in the Home's Policies. To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, Confidentiality and any code of practice on Confidentiality and Data Protection, as accepted by the home
- To ensure that all information collected, stored and used is done so in compliance with the above Act and any relevant Home Policy
- To preserve the confidentiality of any information regarding residents
- To raise any matters of concern with your Manager/Director
Other
- To be aware of and at all times adhere to C.O.S.H.H regulations regarding the use and storage of all chemical agents
- To adhere to all company policies and procedures
- To be aware of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974)
- To inform the Registered Manager or the person in charge of any dangerous or potentially dangerous incident or occurrence in order to ensure the safe operation of the service
- To be aware of Fire Regulations and procedures. Including the location of major incident procedure, and what action to take in any such event
- To carry out any other tasks as reasonably directed
