Full time Education

Job Description

Are you a passionate and experienced SEN teacher/tutor looking to work with students on a one to one basis?

We are currently looking for tutors to support primary and secondary aged students from Year 1 to Year 11 who have a variety of special educational needs including:

* Speech, language and communication needs e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder

* Social, emotional and mental health needs e.g. ADHD and behavioural difficulties

* Moderate and specific learning difficulties e.g. Downs Syndrome, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia

The tuition normally takes place in the pupils home, in a local library/children's centre or online, where appropriate, using an online teaching platform such as Microsoft Teams.

Each student requires a different amount of specialised support, from 2 to 20 hours a week, so this may be the perfect position to suit your current lifestyle.

The salary range is between £25 and £35 per hour (inclusive of Holiday Pay).

If you have QTS or can demonstrate previous success in teaching young people with special educational needs we would like to hear from you.

You may be a graduate who is looking to complete a teaching qualification, have knowledge of PECS or Makaton, be a Maths and/or English specialist or have other appropriate skills and knowledge of SEND. Your skill set will be matched to the appropriate student so please don't hesitate to enquire.

It is beneficial to have your own transport as the students may live some distance apart. However, this is not essential.

The ideal candidate will be:

* Organised and efficient

* Dedicated and committed to achieving successful outcomes

* A good listener, patient and respectful

* Creative and able to think outside the box

* Flexible and have a good sense of humour
