About the Role

We're actively recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias at our Clay Cross site near Chesterfield. The focus of this role is to deliver a world-class service in a fast-paced environment to delight our customers and grow our business. The Engineering function is key to the success and continued improvement of our site operations.

Within this role you'll be responsible for all mechanical fault diagnosis and rectification during your shift, working closely with your electrically biased shift partner on a variety of corrugated board production and conversion machines. You will also ensure all ancillary equipment and site facilities are operational and meet production requirements, liaising with days preventative maintenance team when you identify areas for asset improvement. You will be a responsible person for daily checks on the sites steam plant, ensuring we always remain complaint (training provided).

We're looking for a candidate who has a genuine interest in people with well-developed listening and communication skills with a proactive approach and strong prioritisation skills.

This role operates on a three-shift rota of days, afters and nights.

About You

Minimum requirements:

· Demonstrable background in a maintenance environment

· Time served Mechanical apprenticeship

· Ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings and experience of assembling mechanical systems

· Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work under pressure with machine operatives to solve complex problems

· Working knowledge of continuous improvement/operational training excellence such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Solving techniques

· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to handle purchasing, stock control and supplier communications via a variety of business systems

· Contribute and participate in daily shift meetings

· Working knowledge of CMMS systems

· Experience working on steam systems would be preferable but not essential as full training provided

Preferred requirements:

· SAP experience is highly desirable

· Experience gained within a fast paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment
