Development Manager - Solar PV, Wind, BESS

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join the our client's team and drive the development of our client's pipeline of utility scale and energy storage projects across the UK and Europe.
Our client has a diverse portfolio of projects across Wind, Solar PV and Battery Storage. With them also keeping a keen eye on Hydrogen we are looking for somebody who will be able to manage a varied scope of work.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Setting strategy for development of the businesses pipeline of projects
• Preparing and managing project development budgets and resources
• Due diligence of potential development acquisitions
• Identifying and selecting Sites, including assessment of technical specifications, land plans and encumbrances
• Engaging with stakeholders, planning authorities, environmental groups, community groups, etc
• Commercial negotiations with landowners to secure project land
• Assisting with planning and environmental risk assessments
• Engaging, managing and scheduling external consultants for relevant surveys and reports
• Preparing and submitting of Environmental Impact Statements, planning applications etc
• Proactively dealing with and solving issues.

To be successful for this position, you should have:

• Ideally 3 years project development management experience within the energy sector
• Degree qualified in an Engineering, or relevant degree (i.e Science, Environmental, Planning)
• Understanding of planning and environmental impact assessment requirements in different jurisdictions
• Strong Project Management skills and a highly organised approach to work
• Experience in negotiation of contracts with landowners (e.g. land purchase or lease options and agreements);
