Role Introduction

The Networks Technical Lead is an exciting hands-on delivery role within Advanced IT Services. The role will be responsible for being a key influencer in our Network Services roadmap and to lead the team responsible for delivery and consulting services to power the Network Services demands of our clients. You and your team of Professional Services Consultants and Technicians will be focused on Network Services implementations; delivering quantifiable value to our clients and to Advanced. What you will do

This is a key delivery role within Professional Services driving value engagements, high utilisation, revenue and maintaining margins. Your remit will cover all aspects of Advanced's Network Services delivery and Professional Services consultancy. The Network Services Delivery team may change with future Network Services needs or to align with market conditions or Industry best practise but initially covers experience in designing and implementing complex Cisco based technical solutions with strong BGP, OSPF and EIGRP knowledge, experience in SD-WAN and SD-LAN solutions and security products from firewalls to ISE, Firepower and IPS/IDS.

· Ownership - with defined centres of technical excellence within ITS Professional Services we are looking for a skilled technologist to lead, own, define and deliver Network Services Implementations. This includes delivering to our Roadmap, contributing to defining the tooling, contributing to setting the standards and building the automation capability and competency.

· Leadership - You will be the evangelist and advocate for Network Services within Professional Services. Your team will provide cost effective delivery of Network Services implementations and consultancy services; leveraging our key vendor technologies from Microsoft and associated vendors.

· Direction - The Team Leader - Network Services provides the direction to enable our Professional Services team to deliver an excellent customer experience and deliver qualifiable value to our clients. This includes implementing best practices and repeatable processes to improve Network Services security, stability and availability. Managing and maintaining the Network Services implementation service, through a highly proactive approach; structured and planned implementations, change approval and implementing industry best practises across all Network Services technologies. Promoting learning and development within your team to enable the team to prepare for future technology changes.

· Security - This is a key focus which underpins everything we offer and the Team Leader - Network Services will be expected to review Microsoft best practise, security controls, identify potential threats and weakness and build these into inflight and future implementations. This includes providing resilient and effective processes for ongoing management and protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our clients' data.

· Service Take-on - ensuring every implementation is smoothly transitioned into standard operations by working closely with all internal stakeholders. This will include licensing aspects and updating the CMDB with Asset information.

What you will have
  • Be the complete Advocate for Network Services and Professional Services.
  • Demonstrable previous experience of hands-on implementation and support for large-scale Network Services implementations within a Managed Service Provider environment or large Business.
  • Enthusiastic leadership and great communication skills, to improve the delivery of Network Services solutions, communicating effectively to all stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • The ability to scope, define & provide solutions across a broad scope of Network Services technologies. Display effective skills to communicate with the leadership community, third-party Suppliers and internal / external technical teams.
  • Strong consultancy skills and the capacity to be an excellent motivator in order to meet deadlines and handle change.
  • To work on other projects and initiatives as directed by the Consultant Manager - Professional Services, Advanced IT Services to support changes or opportunities in the division and wider business
