Volunteering Matters is looking for a values-led and proactive Project Manager to join our Eastern regional team. We are a values-driven organisation, and are looking for someone who is compassionate, empowering, straightforward, inclusive and positive when working with different groups of people - including young people, communities and staff.
Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to manage Youth Social Action projects and Community-based Projects within the East Team, as well as the staff team for the programme.
Peer Research and Youth Social Action
Volunteering Matters has excitingly been awarded funding from the Youth Endowment Fund to conduct peer research for young people in Suffolk, Norfolk, and Essex. The project team will be divided in to two place-based teams, one covering Suffolk & Norfolk, the other covering Essex. Each team will be made up of a Project Manager & an Engagement Manager with the former line managing the latter. The Project managers will be line managed by the Delivery Lead for the East of England who Is based In Ipswich.
The project will look at recruiting young people to be involved in a Peer Research and Youth Social Action across the three areas. The young people will be empowered to be changemakers and have direct influence in the place they are living by being peer researchers and leaders of Youth Social Action in their area whilst also reducing serious youth violence
