Normal hours of work: Mon-Fri 08.00 to 17.00 with a degree of flexibility

James Jones & Sons Ltd is one of the UK's largest and most progressive timber processing companies with core activities in timber harvesting, haulage, and sawmilling.

With 26 sites throughout the UK, we operate seven sawmills, an engineered wood manufacturing plant in the north of Scotland and 17 pallet and packaging operations. We produce high quality, British grown timber for the UK construction, fencing & landscaping, and agricultural sectors; market-leading JJI-Joists for the housebuilding and construction markets and pallets and packaging for blue chip domestic and exporting businesses.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Workshop/Stores Administrator to join our Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeping track of consumables and goods inward / outward for use across the sites production lines.
  • Working in an efficient and productive manner and be involved in overall continual efficiency improvements.
  • Ensuring that operations within the store's facility are carried out in a safe controlled manner.
  • Reporting to the Engineering department to ensure that responsibilities are achieved, aligned with Health & Safety, Quality, and productivity.
  • Stock taking.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and also have the ability to work on your own initiative as and when required.
  • Computer literate (experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexible work approach
  • Driven, enthusiastic and a self-motivator

A forklift licence would be beneficial or willing to obtain one through relevant training.

Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and experience in a similar role is essential.

This will require compliance to COVID19 regulations, health and safety procedures and written work instructions.

The successful candidates must have the ability to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship, reasonably communicate in English as well as comprehend written instructions.
