We are looking for a creative and innovative Communications & Content Executive to provide crucial support to Wakehurst's Marketing & Strategic Communications Group, ensuring impactful storytelling through PR and digital content that will drive engagement, visitation and brand awareness.
You will work with the Strategic Communications Manager to deliver dynamic communications for a broad range of activity including cultural events, pioneering science programmes and innovative horticultural projects. You will play a critical role in the efficient running of the press office function, facilitating media visits and filming opportunities and content gathering for Wakehurst's presence on Kewnet, RBG Kew's internal communications tool.
This role will also include coordination of Wakehurst's digital content planning in close collaboration with the RBG Kew Digital Content team, and facilitating content production on the ground where necessary.
The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction. Our mission is to understand and protect plants and fungi for the well-being of people and the future of all life on Earth.
We are working to end the unprecedented extinction crisis and to help create a world where nature is protected, valued by all and managed sustainably. We will achieve these goals by drawing on our leading scientific research, unrivalled collections of plants and fungi, global network of partners, inspirational gardens at Kew and Wakehurst, and our 260 years of history.
Join us on our journey as protectors of the world's plants and fungi.
With recent experience in a communications role - ideally for a large visitor attraction or in the tourism, leisure, charity or arts sector - you will be able to demonstrate the successful creation and delivery of impactful PR campaigns. You will be confident in working as part of a busy press office, from creating press releases and using media databases, to supporting photocalls and press events.
Key will be your enthusiasm, creativity and initiative, combined with strong organisation skills to balance multiple tasks. A passion for uncovering stories and turning them into engaging content is essential - be it copy writing, briefing photography/film, or creating social media posts. In this multi-faceted, fast-paced team, it's important that you enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different departments, helping drive projects forward to meet objectives and deadlines.
This role will involve occasional out-of-hours working and on call duties.
Our fantastic benefits package includes opportunities for continuous learning, a generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance, an Employee Assistance Programme and other wellbeing support such as cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership. We also offer a competitive pension, an employee discount scheme and free entry into a wide range of national museums and galleries, as well access to our own beautiful gardens at Kew and Wakehurst.
