We have a fantastic opportunity to lead the continued expansion and development of our market-leading portfolio of software products.

Reporting directly to the CTO, this role will head up and direct the delivery of all the development programmes at MHR across a large (120+ engineers both inhouse and outsourced) multi-disciplined engineering team.

We are looking for someone from a strong technical background with excellent communication skills, who has a thorough understanding and experience of leading the delivery of high-level software solutions across multi-disciplined development teams within agile environments. A passionate and committed leader, you will bring your experience and enthusiasm to drive change and innovation across the team.

You will be responsible for promoting a strong and high performing agile development culture, working closely with the Product Design team and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful, on time release of high-quality and secure software solutions to our customers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a technology strategy to Inspire, motivate digital and technical staff
  • Ensure successful, on time release of high-quality and secure Software solutions
  • Drive the engineering culture across multiple teams
  • Develop working and engineering in-line with current trends and techniques in order to achieve faster outcomes and efficiency
  • Drive DevOps capability toward continuous delivery
  • Ensure effective recruitment, retention and development of staff
  • Work with the CTO and Product Design to plan delivery strategy and forecast capacity
  • Encourage and promote collaborative approach across teams and departments
  • Champion and Promote Agile coaching and delivery
  • Manage relationship with delivery partners
  • Supports and elevates the strategy set forth by CTO and key stake holders making appropriate software, and technology recommendations.
  • Consistently looks across all phases of the development life cycle for opportunities to drive efficiency, through Automation and continual improvement.
  • Receives, interprets, transmits and "evangelizes" exceptionally complex information requiring extensive explanation or interpretation to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in development, design, and implementation of new technologies including: software, hardware and SAAS applications.
  • Control of Software budget in accordance with the agreed Business Plan.
  • Effective and timely resolution of standard software defects in accordance with Support Contract terms and SLA's
  • Delivery of new and statutory software functionality on time and budget to agreed specifications and quality levels
