We are working very closely with one of the most exciting start-ups here in the UK assisting them in their search for a Finance Manager. This role is the 1 ST finance hire for the business reporting into a brilliant line manager who is super impressive!

This marketplace business is looking to double headcount and more than triple their revenue figures by the end of 2022. They have plans to further introduce new revenue streams which you will analyse and help implement within the business.

Responsibilities:

• Owning and maintaining financial forecasts for the business, working closely with divisional leads on project pipeline planning, departmental and project-level budgeting
• Leading on analyses including business-wide cost-base reviews and project variance analyses that drive decision making; supporting on the commercial analysis of new business models and evaluation of opportunities for the company
• Leading preparation of monthly management accounts; contributing to our investor updates and internal monthly and quarterly business performance reviews
• Managing all day-to-day finance processes including payments and invoicing (working closely with our external bookkeeper) and supporting business compliance.

Candidate Expectations

• You're able to carry out high fidelity commercial diligence on new models, projects and initiatives; you can also deliver clarity and actionable insights into the drivers of all aspects of our current financial performance
• You have the ability to build relationships with a range of different people, building trust easily and establishing finance as an enabler of strategic decision making across different teams
• You're an expert with Excel and would be able to use your analytical skills and sweating of the details to accurately predict the financial performance of our business
• You're able to introduce systems and processes that prepare our finance function for our next stage of growth

Qualifications & Background:

• An accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience working for a fast-growing startup or online marketplace
