Job Description

Role: Head of Therapy

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (pro rata)

An opportunity is available for a Head of Therapy to join the team at S V 2. The Head of Therapy will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

The Head of Therapy together with the Chief Executive and the Head of Advocacy & Support make up S V 2's Senior Management Team. Working as part of the Senior Management Team the role will be key to maintaining the strategic and operational integrity of S V 2, with specific responsibility for the delivery of high quality Therapy Services to children, young people and adults. These services are funded through multiple grants and contracts which are the responsibility of the post-holder.

In addition, the postholder is responsible for:

ensuring compliance with quality standards set by BACP and Lime Culture.
maintaining and developing strong working relationships to promote and represent SV2 locally, regionally and nationally.

The Head of Therapy position comes with a salary scale of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum pro rata dependant on experience, a flexible working scheme, ongoing skills development and training, an enhanced annual leave scheme of 28 days plus bank holidays per annum and a company pension scheme.

The role is 22.5 to 30 hours per week and is based at our office in Alfreton but will also require the post holder to travel to sites across the county, there is also flexibility to work from home.

The Organisation:

The Organisation is a Charity supporting victims of sexual violence across Derbyshire. The aims of the Charity are; to reduce the impact of rape and sexual abuse on victims (male and female) and their families; to encourage reporting of rape and sexual abuse, if appropriate; to support victims through the criminal justice process and; to reduce the incidence of rape and sexual abuse by raising awareness.

We are now looking for a dynamic Head of Therapy to oversee effective delivery of the Charity's Therapy Services.

Head of Therapy Main Duties:

Responsible for overseeing effective delivery of the Charity's Therapy Services
To be part of the Charity's Senior Management Team, together with the Chief Executive and the Head of Advocacy & Support, ensuring delivery of the Organisation's overarching Business Plan Objectives.
Overall responsibility for all therapeutic staff including employed, subcontracted, student and volunteer therapists.
Accountable for accurate and timely reporting to commissioners and funders in line with contract and funding agreements and oversight of any contract variations required.
Work with SV2's Financial Controller to manage relevant budget
Maintain effective networks with all key stakeholders and work with the Chief Executive in the promotion and development of these networks. This may include other professional bodies, local commissioners, Government departments and associated agencies, victims, their families, other voluntary organisations and donors

Head of Therapy Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Educated to Post Graduate Degree level (ideally an MA/MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy) or significant experience in managing therapy services
Experience of working in a management/leadership role
Experience of promoting an organisation through high profile external networking
Knowledge of issues affecting victims of sexual violence and abuse
Ability to create and implement effective outcome based interventions
Knowledge and experience in relation to the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children
Able to maintain professional, well written and comprehensive notes, write reports
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to network, negotiate with and influence, a range of partners and stakeholders
Should be Competent in the use of IT i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, etc
Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to own transport which will need to be insured for business use
Accredited member of BACP or a similar professional body
