Health & Safety Manager - Civil Engineering Oxford Up to £62,000 + Car/Car Allowance £6.5k Are you an experienced Senior Health & Safety professional within the Civil Engineering sector, seeking the opportunity to progress your career? Key duties will include: Be responsible for Health and Safety for all on site and promote a Safety first culture Review and communicate previous weeks H&S challenges Liaise with the Client, Supply Chain, Sub-Contractors, the public, and other stakeholders About You You will be an experienced Senior Advisor or Health & Safety Manager within the Rail or Highways sectors. You will have experience working within major projects, with the ability to communicate effectively with the client. The project will be focused on Earthworks, Structures, Rail, Highways and Civils. This role will support two high profile projects, therefore 3 days will be required in Oxford, and 2 days in Bridgwater, Somerset. Those two days include commuting, and the client will pay for accomodation for over night stays. We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent with a strong earthworks background to support the delivery of major earthworks packages on the HS2 project in Chipping Warden. This permanent role will involve managing site operations, coordinating teams, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with HS2 standards. Key Responsibilities Support the Site Agent and Project Manager in the day-to-day delivery of large-scale earthworks operations. Manage earthworks activities including bulk excavation, cut and fill, embankments, haul roads, soil stabilisation, and drainage interfaces. Coordinate subcontractors, plant, and labour to achieve programme and productivity targets. Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and HS2 requirements. Oversee quality assurance processes including inspections, testing, and as-built records. Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance. Assist in the preparation and review of RAMS, permits, and temporary works documentation. Monitor progress, prepare site reports, and support short-term planning and sequencing. Liaise with engineering, environmental, and commercial teams to resolve technical and operational issues. Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on major earthworks or civil engineering projects. Experience working on major infrastructure schemes; HS2 experience highly desirable. Strong understanding of earthworks methodologies, materials management, and environmental controls. Familiarity with NEC contracts and collaborative project environments. Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills. Qualifications Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent. CSCS card essential; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid preferred. Full UK driving licence.

Senior Transport Planner Oxfordshire Hybrid / Flexible Working I'm working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy that is continuing to grow its transport planning team due to a strong pipeline of work. They are now seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join their Oxfordshire office, offering an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their consultancy career. This role sits within a collaborative and experienced team delivering complex transport planning solutions across a wide range of development sectors. You'll gain exposure to technically challenging projects while working closely with senior leadership and clients. The Opportunity You'll play a key role in the delivery of transport planning commissions from early feasibility through to planning submission and beyond. The position offers scope to strengthen both technical and commercial skills, while contributing to the continued growth of the business. Key responsibilities include: Preparing site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice Producing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans Undertaking junction capacity assessments and traffic modelling Using micro-simulation (e.g. VISSIM / Paramics) or strategic models (e.g. SATURN) Supporting large-scale residential development through the Local Plan process Liaising with clients, local authorities and wider project teams Attending meetings with key stakeholders and representing the consultancy professionally About You This role would suit a Senior Transport Planner with consultancy experience who enjoys technical problem-solving and client interaction.
