Working closely with IT, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Projects, Operations and external suppliers, you'll provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise across a diverse restaurant technology landscape. A restaurant not trading is a restaurant losing money. You'll therefore play a critical role in supporting major incidents, identifying root causes, improving operational resilience and ensuring restaurant technology is reliable, secure and scalable. This role will suit someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail, challenging suppliers, defining standards and driving long-term improvements rather than applying short-term fixes. What you'll be doingTechnical Architecture & Ownership Act as the technical authority for restaurant technology across multiple markets. Define and maintain technical standards, architecture principles and support models. Review and approve technical designs, configurations and implementation approaches. Ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, secure and aligned to operational requirements. Identify dependencies, risks and opportunities for improvement across the technology estate. Challenge solutions that do not meet Five Guys standards. Ensure suppliers provide appropriate documentation, support models and testing. Partner with vendors to improve resilience, service quality and operational outcomes. Support contract and SLA reviews from a technical perspective. Documentation & Technical Governance Create and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures. Define technical handover requirements for projects and technology changes. Document decisions, risks, dependencies and support arrangements. Improve the quality and consistency of technical knowledge across the business. You'll have: Strong experience within restaurant, hospitality, retail or multi-site technology environments. Technical expertise across POS platforms, payments, kiosks, networking and in-store infrastructure. Experience supporting business-critical technology where uptime and operational continuity are essential. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Experience reviewing technical architectures and supplier solutions. The confidence to challenge poor design, unnecessary complexity and operational risk.
