Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale - unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data - securing and protecting private information more effectively - Elastic's complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI. What is The Role: The Elastic Security Endpoint Protections team researches, designs, and builds the visibility and prevention capabilities at the core of Elastic Defend, our endpoint and SIEM security solution. We are looking for a Senior Security Research Engineer to help lead our efforts to build innovative features that secure our users against the latest emerging threats. You will collaborate with the broader Elastic Security team, a diverse group of skilled researchers, data scientists, and engineers who bring deep domain knowledge in their respective areas. Our geographically dispersed team values positivity and inclusivity in the workplace, clear communication, collaborative learning, and guided mentorship. What You Will Be Doing: Research emerging attacker techniques and turn them into shipped protections. Study real-world tradecraft across in-memory threats, injection, credential theft, ransomware, and kernel tampering, then design protections that hold up against an adversary actively trying to defeat them. Build and extend endpoint visibility. Instrument new event sources across Windows, macOS, and Linux, deepen the telemetry we already collect, and close the gaps attackers rely on. Every source you add becomes a foundation for other teams. Develop production code that runs everywhere. Write performant, stable C/C++ that executes on millions of endpoints, where a memory leak or a few milliseconds of overhead is a customer-visible problem. Reverse engineer malware and study evasion. Learn how attackers bypass endpoint security controls in the wild, and feed that understanding directly into the protections you design and harden. Own efficacy end to end. Review customer telemetry at fleet scale, investigate false positives and performance regressions, and establish mitigation strategies. Shipping the feature is the beginning of the job, not the end. Extend protection parity across platforms. Bring the depth we have on Windows to macOS and Linux, and support new hardware architectures as they reach the enterprise. Collaborate across Elastic Security. Implement endpoint code alongside peers in multiple countries and time zones, and work with the detection engineers, malware researchers, and data scientists who rely on your telemetry. Help lead the team's technical direction. Take point on initiatives that span multiple releases, raise the bar in design and code reviews, and mentor engineers earlier in their careers. Publish and present. Share your research on Elastic Security Labs, present at conferences, and contribute to the open source projects that organizations around the world rely on. What You Bring: 6+ years of professional experience analyzing attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and building detection methods for real security threats. 6+ years of development experience in C, C++, and Python, with the judgment to write code that is safe, fast, and maintainable in a security-critical codebase. Deep operating system internals knowledge, in both kernel and user mode, deep enough to reason about undocumented behavior and find security-relevant structures nobody has written about yet. Windows depth is what we need most, with macOS or Linux depth close behind. In-depth reverse engineering and malware analysis experience, and comfort with the tooling that makes hard binaries readable. An adversarial instinct. You anticipate how a protection will be evaded before it ships, and design for resilience rather than for the proof of concept in front of you. A collaborative mentality and an eagerness to learn new skills, new platforms, and emerging technologies. You have a proven track record of using AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code, while still owning the final outcomes. You work autonomously and can drive decisions and results in a distributed team by leveraging asynchronous, direct, and transparent communication. Passion for protecting the world's data from attack! Bonus Points: Vulnerability research and exploit development, particularly with a track record of responsible disclosure to platform vendors. Red teaming experience, or a background in building offensive tooling and defeating endpoint security products. Kernel-mode development, including driver development and debugging. Ownership or long-term maintenance of an open-source security tool with a real user base. Conference speaking experience (e.g., Black Hat, DEF CON, CODE BLUE, Virus Bulletin) or an established publication record. Experience applying machine learning to endpoint security problems. Familiarity with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana) and Elastic Security. Additional Information - We Take Care of Our People: As a distributed company, diversity drives our identity. Whether you're looking to launch a new career or grow an existing one, Elastic is the type of company where you can balance great work with great life. Your age is only a number. It doesn't matter if you're just out of college or your children are; we need you for what you can do. We strive to have parity of benefits across regions, and while regulations differ from place to place, we believe taking care of our people is the right thing to do. About Football Radar Football Radar has been developing statistical models and analytical frameworks for football for more than 10 years. We provide advice to football clubs and are also a leading provider of betting advice. We combine the agility and ownership of a start-up with the stability of an established, profitable business. About the Role Everything we do runs on data. Our models and research are only as good as the datasets behind them, so we are hiring a data platform engineer to help build and operate that foundation: the shared pipelines, storage systems, tools and cloud infrastructure that turn large, messy football datasets into reliable, affordable and accessible inputs for our data scientists. This is a data platform role grounded in software and cloud engineering. You will build both the systems that process our data and the reusable capabilities that make those systems easier to develop, deploy and operate. Much of the work will be familiar to a data engineer, however we tend to build directly in AWS rather than using managed platforms, so the role involves more hands on cloud work than many data engineering roles. The role could suit a platform, backend or cloud engineer who wants to specialise in data intensive systems. It could also suit a data engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and hands on experience building and operating cloud infrastructure. You will work on real football data problems involving rich, granular datasets that few companies have access to. We are a small team with short feedback loops, and you will work closely with the people who use what you build. You will have a genuine say in how systems should work, then build, ship and own them in production. What You Will Work On Building reusable tools and pipelines for ingesting large third party datasets, some at terabyte scale. Designing storage patterns and data interfaces that make datasets economical to store, and efficient to use. Operating batch workloads on AWS, with responsibility for their reliability, resource use, retry behaviour, observability and cost. Improving the shared tooling and infrastructure used to test, deploy, monitor and operate our data services. Making common data workflows easier and safer for data scientists, while working closely with them to understand how datasets will actually be used. Making nightly data loads and copy processes boring: restart safe, observable and quick to recover when something fails. What We Are Looking For Strong production software engineering You have a few years of experience building production software, ideally in Python, although strong engineers from other languages who want to work in Python are welcome. You write code that is tested, deployed and monitored, and you are comfortable reading and debugging code written by other people. Hands on cloud engineering You have built, deployed and operated systems using cloud primitives directly, not only through a data platform such as Databricks or Snowflake. Your experience might include object storage, containerised compute, batch jobs, queues, identity and permissions, networking, monitoring or infrastructure as code. We use AWS for almost everything, but strong fundamentals on another public cloud transfer well. You do not need to know every AWS service we use. You should understand the core building blocks and their cost models well enough to design with them, see how the components of a cloud system fit together and investigate them when they fail. Strong systems fundamentals You can reason about what the tools are doing underneath: how a database uses an index, why a process runs out of memory, how files and objects behave in cloud storage, and what makes a distributed job safe to retry or restart halfway through. Production ownership You have kept something running that mattered. You have handled failures, added missing alerts and made unreliable systems dependable. You take pride in systems that are uneventful to operate. Data and SQL fundamentals You are comfortable with SQL and relational databases. You can reason about schemas, indexes, query plans and the trade offs involved in storing and processing large datasets. Comfort with loosely defined problems Much of our work has no detailed specification or established playbook. You enjoy turning a vague problem into a practical design, making sensible choices and shipping a working system. You can judge when a detail deserves careful treatment and when a simple first version is the right answer. Curiosity about how data is used You do not need a data science background, but our platform exists to serve statistical models and research. You should be interested in how datasets will actually be used and willing to let that shape the systems you build. An interest in football, sport or betting markets is a bonus.

About Us Basecamp Research is dedicated to solving major challenges in the life sciences by exploring Beyond Known Biology. Our teams build frontier AI models using BaseData, the world's largest ethically-sourced and globally representative biological dataset. Our Global Research Team collects and curates our own biological data through partnerships with more than 152 organisations in 28 countries, giving its AI access to genetic diversity that doesn't exist for models trained on public database sources. This enables Basecamp Research to design novel protein sequences and biological systems that can accelerate therapeutic research and development. In October 2024 we closed Series B and in January 2026 finalised pre-Series C investment from NVIDIA. With hubs both in London, UK as well as Boston, Massachusetts, USA and partners with biopharma companies and academic institutions worldwide, our work has been recognised with honours including Fast Company's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Biotech and the FT-backed Sifted AI100 list of Europe's leading AI startups. At Basecamp Research, we pride ourselves on being a diverse, exciting, fun, and flexible place to work. Our team of biologists, engineers, ML scientists, field explorers, and operations specialists are united by a sense of adventure and the belief that nature has already designed the solutions to our planet's greatest challenges - we just need to go out and discover them! If you feel passionate about the power of biology, data, and AI to build a better world, we'd love to hear from you. The Role Our EDEN models, trained on the world's largest ethically-sourced biological dataset, have already designed novel antibiotics validated against priority pathogens in the lab, and prioritised vaccine targets faster than comparable genomic foundation models. We are looking for a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Genomics team in London, working closely with our deep-learning modelling, engineering, and translational teams. You will focus on defining what data our models require, what "good data" means and validating through evidence the success of our foundational models. You will be a first principles thinker capable of reasoning backwards: defining what data would train a capability, how to structure, and what evaluations would show the model is doing what we intend. You can read more about EDEN's move into antibiotic and vaccine design. What you'll do Start from a modelling goal and work out the data behind it: what to assemble or curate, how to define ground truth and label quality, and how to build biologically sound splits homology- and structure-aware, not naive random so that what a model learns holds up. Design the evaluations that prove it: the metrics, baselines, and failure analysis that show a model is genuinely capable rather than exploiting leakage or a shortcut in the data. Fine tune and rigorously evaluate genomic or protein models, or work hand in hand with those who do, so that your dataset decisions are grounded in how they actually move model performance. Reason about biological meaning from foundational, evolutionary-scale data through to human therapeutic context: target validation evidence, indication mapping, peptide-level questions. Run and develop the genomic and protein analyses that depend on sequence analysis, alignment, annotation, comparative and evolutionary approaches with the scepticism to spot when a result is an artefact of the method rather than the biology. Work reproducibly, so your datasets and analyses are something the team can rerun and build on rather than a result that only ran once on your machine using whatever tooling fits, from workflow managers to containers, without needing to be a platform engineer. Hold the line on data integrity, treating provenance and lineage as first-class parts of the dataset because a model is only as trustworthy as the consented, traceable data underneath it. About You You have demonstrated experience curating data specifically for life science AI, so you understand what separates a dataset that trains a good model from one that quietly poisons it. That comes from having been close to the models themselves. You've trained, fine tuned, or run inference on them enough to know what a dataset looks like from the other side. Your foundations are strong. You have core bioinformatics, sequence informatics and the standard genomic and protein toolchain, along with the judgment to know where those tools quietly break down, backed by sound software practice in reproducibility, version control, and pipelines. You have direct experience in human research, functional genomics, or clinically relevant work, the kind where the biology connects to human health rather than sitting at arm's length. You'll likely have a PhD in a relevant field, an MSc with 1 3 years of relevant experience, or a BSc with 3 or more years. Low ego, collaborative instincts, and a startup mentality. You're comfortable with ambiguity and happy to wear multiple hats in a team where everyone contributes towards the company's success. What we offer in return Impactful Mission: This is a rare chance to do work that genuinely matters. You'll join a talented, fast-moving team, access unique biological datasets at scale, and see your contributions shape real breakthroughs in AI and curative therapeutics. Collaborative Culture: You'll be surrounded by world-class engineers, scientists, and researchers who care deeply about their work and about each other. With offices in London and Boston, we've built a flexible, cross functional environment where personal development and real ownership aren't just talking points. High Growth: We truly believe in investing in our people. We make coaching available to team members during steep growth journeys and we have twice yearly promotion opportunities. People who are really successful here own it and go directly to solve problems at pace, and we ensure reward increases with impact. Comprehensive Benefits: We've built a benefits package people value. That means competitive salary, equity, and private healthcare with no medical history exclusions - so strong that most employees' family members opt into our plan over their own. We also offer Carrot Fertility with IVF stipend, salary sacrifice pension, bike to work scheme, life insurance, and more. We are committed to equal opportunity employment regardless of ethnic or national origin, race, religion, sex, age, citizenship, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, gender identity or any other basis. If you have a disability or additional need that needs accommodating do let us know.
