Acorn by Synergie
Production Manager
Acorn by Synergie Glais, Swansea
Production Manager COMAH Major Hazard Industry Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager for an exceptional new permanent opportunity on behalf of their client in Swansea. The role is based at the Mond Nickel Refinery, owned and operated by Vale Europe. Celebrating an incredible 125 years of operations in 2027, the refinery is one of the world's leading nickel refining facilities and forms part of Vale Base Matals, one of the world's largest mining companies with operations across the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Manager at a strategic level to join a globally recognised organisation, reporting directly to the UK head of operations. Vale's Clydach Nickel Refinery is a critical part of Vale Base Metals' North Atlantic and Asia operations, producing around 40,000 tonnes of Class 1 nickel pellets and powders each year from feed supplied by Vale operations in Canada and Japan. Established in 1902, the refinery employs approximately 205 people, operates as an Upper Tier COMAH site, and is regulated under an environmental permit. As demand grows for the materials needed to support decarbonisation, battery production and associated infrastructure, the nickel produced at Clydach will continue to play an important role in Vale Base Metals' contribution to the energy transition and other critical mineral markets. The Role The Production Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Clydach Refinery production assets to achieve operational targets while upholding Vale's core value of "Life Matters Most". Reporting to the UK Operations Manager, the role is a key member of the Clydach Senior Leadership Team and has direct accountability for the Production department. Given the refinery's Upper Tier COMAH status and the inherent risks associated with nickel refining, the role requires strong process safety leadership, robust operational discipline and effective management of occupational, environmental and process safety risks. The Production Manager will lead their team such that operational routines, performance levels and workplace standards are established, systemised and continually improved. These practices must support the effective processing of feed materials, production of nickel products and reduction of risk to as low as reasonably practicable. A key part of the role will be developing people and building capability across the Production department. The Production Manager will support role satisfaction and career development by creating clear expectations, strengthening competence, encouraging ownership, and identifying opportunities for individuals to grow within Vale. The Production Manager will also act as an agent of managed change, constructively challenging the status quo and embedding the behaviours and accountability needed to sustain improved performance. The role balances day-to-day operational delivery with a two-to-five-year strategic horizon, identifying opportunities and risks to be built into the refinery plan. This includes optimising resources, managing cost budgets effectively, improving safety, production and environmental performance, and identifying opportunities to maximise plant throughput and drive greater value. The role will be a key interface with internal and external stakeholders including the Health, Safety and Environmental regulators, customers, third party suppliers and peers within Vale Base Metals. Requirements Minimum of five years' experience managing teams and delivering performance through coaching, mentoring and development. Experience operating at a strategic level, ideally as part of a senior leadership team. Demonstrable experience working within a COMAH-regulated or major hazard environment. Strong understanding of process safety management and major hazard risk principles. Experience leading change and supporting operational transformation. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Lead by example and engage confidently with employees at all levels. Build credibility through strong relationships, sound judgement and consistent decision-making. Demonstrate resilience when managing complex operational and regulatory challenges. Promote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. Develop teams and create an environment where people can perform at their best. Qualifications / Skill set The ideal candidate will hold a degree in a STEM related discipline, a leadership & management qualification, and a NEBOSH General Certificate in Safety Management or equivalent. In addition, the candidate will have senior leadership experience in a manufacturing or process industry environment. Experience of an Upper Tier COMAH site and strong process safety knowledge are essential; continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience would be advantageous. The role requires strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation, influence key stakeholders, and communicate clearly with teams, regulators, customers and external partners. The successful candidate should be able to translate complex operational and safety issues into clear messages that support alignment, decision-making and performance improvement. Benefits include Full Family Private Health Cover 6 % employee,11% Employer Pension Contributions 35% Annual Bonus X2 Life Cover Optional Share Participation Interested? This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised leader in nickel refining as a Production Manager within a major hazard industrial environment. If you have the required qualifications, experience and skills, please apply with your up-to-date CV and a covering letter explaining why you are suitable for this position. Inclusive Environment Vale is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, or age. Senior Product Manager - Platform & AI
Wolf & Badger
Wolf & Badger is on a mission to make retail fair. Supporting our community of independent designers from around the globe, we connect customers with ethically sourced fashion, design, home and beauty through our online marketplace and flagship stores in London, New York City and Los Angeles. We are a scale-up business based in the UK and US and a Certified B Corporation, with social and environmental purpose at the core of everything we do. We are looking for a bold and technically fluent Senior Product Manager to lead product across the platform that powers our marketplace. Reporting directly to the CEO and working day to day with our VP Technology and a team of c.10 engineers, you will be the senior product voice in the business, with an unusually broad remit: agentic commerce, distribution channels, retail media, product data, integrations and the platform capabilities behind our customer and brand experiences. This is an AI-first role. We are one of the first marketplaces live on agent-initiated checkout, and we are opening structured, authenticated access to our platform: AI agents discovering and transacting with our catalogue, brands plugging their own systems and agents into stock, orders and fulfilment, and partners such as 3PLs connecting directly. We expect our next Product Manager to work the same way: reaching for a working prototype before a written spec, automating their own workflows, and using AI to multiply what one person can scope, test and ship. At Wolf & Badger we champion a low-ego environment where cross-functional debate is encouraged, and we strive to be mission-orientated and fair at all times. This is a genuinely autonomous role. You will be our sole product manager on this remit, without a dedicated designer or researcher behind you: you will orchestrate design through AI tooling and external partners, run your own AI-assisted discovery, and pull your own data. If that sounds daunting, this isn't the role for you; if it sounds like freedom, we should talk. This is a full-time role which benefits from flexible hybrid working practices, combining onsite working from our vibrant Central London office (3+ days per week) and working from home. We also offer a generous annual work from abroad allowance. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Own the product strategy for platform, brands and distribution, spanning agentic commerce, retail media, partner channel integrations, payments, fulfilment and international commerce, plus the inventory, stock and product data that underpin them Deliver the commercial value behind that strategy: own the revenue and growth goals for these channels and be judged on outcomes, not output Own prioritisation across competing commercial goals: pressure-test demand, say no where the evidence isn't there, and turn what makes the cut into clear, engineering-ready requirements the team can scope and sequence at pace Drive our agentic commerce agenda: extend our live agent-initiated checkout channels and build the commerce layer (APIs and MCP) that lets AI agents discover, query and transact against our catalogue Open the platform to brands and operational partners: integration surfaces (APIs and MCP) for stock, orders, catalogue and fulfilment, and connectors to 3PLs and other third-party systems, treating the platform itself as a product: developer experience, documentation, versioning and deprecation, sandboxes and partner support Own trust and safety for agentic commerce: authentication and permissioning for agents acting on behalf of customers and brands, guardrails and rate limits, abuse prevention, and clear accountability for agent-initiated transactions Own product data quality end to end, including structured product schemas and identifiers, AI-driven tagging and enrichment, and the feeds that power search, advertising and third-party channels Automate your own product operations, from request to scoped ticket to launch, and spread those AI workflows across the business Grow our retail media and brand monetisation products, from sponsored listings to self-serve campaign tools Run quarterly OKR planning and roadmap communication, keeping engineering, design, commercial and content teams aligned on priorities, trade-offs and progress, and iterate the squad's ways of working with our VP Technology, balancing velocity with product quality Lead product discovery, combining AI-assisted research synthesis with data analysis and direct conversations with customers and brands Orchestrate design delivery through AI design tooling and external design partners, maintaining quality and consistency with our design system Support the ecommerce and content teams who own the on-site shopping experience, connecting their conversion, merchandising and search work to the platform roadmap Required Significant senior-level experience as a Product Manager on technical or platform products such as APIs, integrations, data products, payments or commerce infrastructure An AI-native working style: you use AI tools as first-line instruments in your daily work, you reach for a working prototype before a written spec, and you can describe specifically which parts of your workflow AI has replaced Comfort reading and debating technical designs and trade-offs directly with senior engineers Experience in ecommerce or marketplaces, with a strong grasp of marketplace dynamics and unit economics Proven ability to operate autonomously across a broad remit, turning ambiguity and business OKRs into clear, prioritised roadmaps, with a track record of hitting the commercial goals behind them Excellent communication at all levels, able to motivate engineers, debate productively with stakeholders and represent product to the exec team Energy, humour and self-awareness, thriving in a feedback-driven, growth-oriented culture Highly desired Hands-on experience building with LLMs, such as prompt engineering, MCP or commerce protocols, agent integrations, or designing eval suites for AI features Experience with retail media, marketplace advertising or feed-based distribution channels Experience with supply-side marketplace integrations: inventory and order APIs, ecommerce platform connectors, or 3PL and fulfilment systems Familiarity with agentic coding and AI product tools (Claude Code or similar) and workflow automation platforms (n8n or similar) Exposure to Python/Django and React codebases Experience working directly with founders or exec teams in a scale-up environment This is more than just a product management role: it is the chance to define how an independent-brand marketplace is built, distributed and experienced in the agentic era. If you're an ambitious, technically minded product leader ready to make an impact, we'd love to hear from you! Annual salary of £80k-£90k subject to skills and experience Career development opportunities in a scale-up international business Hybrid working policy (3+ days per week in our Central London office) Generous paid annual leave allowance in addition to bank holidays Cycle to work scheme Paid 'pet-ernity' and heartbreak leave Quarterly Wellness Wallet - to spend on products and services which are meaningful to you Subscription to Yulife health and wellbeing app Optional Health Insurance Annual work from abroad allowance Staff discount across Wolf & Badger online and in store Meaningful work in our mission-driven business Wolf & Badger is an equal opportunities employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates. We encourage applications from people from all walks of life.
