Junior Sheet Metal Fabricators (Permanent) - 4-day week, Fridays off We're recruiting reliable, motivated Junior Sheet Metal Fabricators to join a large, experienced production team on a permanent basis. This role would suit someone with a strong work ethic and a keen interest in learning how to run press machines. Hours: Mon-Wed 07:00-17:30 & Thurs 07:00-16:30 (full-time hours over 4 days) - every Friday off The role You'll operate fabrication machinery and produce high-precision sheet metal components and sub-assemblies, working from engineering drawings and to a defined schedule. Duties include: Setting up and operating fabrication machines including guillotines, bandsaws and presses Producing and assembling detailed parts for assemblies and welded assemblies Laying out, measuring and marking materials from drawings/templates using hand tools and calculators Using measuring equipment to confirm dimensions meet drawing requirements Reading and following engineering drawings/lofts, procedures and work instructions Attending and participating in daily stand-up meetings Working to all health & safety, quality and regulatory requirements Supporting workplace organisation and continuous improvement Maintaining a tidy, safe working environment Completing other duties within your capabilities as required Essential: Experience operating fabrication machinery (e.g. guillotine/bandsaw/press ) Ability to work in a team to deliver parts on time Strong attention to detail, reliability and a quality-focused approach Motivation and a strong desire to learn press machine operation (main requirement) Desirable (preferable): Knowledge of manufacturing processes within aerospace or automotive Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and aerospace specifications Practical problem solving, analysis and decision-making skills Other information: These are permanent roles.
