Sports Coach in Sheffield

Job Title: Sports Coach / Learning Support
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 - £650 per week

GSL Education is looking for energetic and motivated individuals with a sports, coaching, or fitness background to work in school-based support roles across Sheffield. These positions are within secondary education settings where you will support learning, assist in classrooms, and help maintain positive engagement throughout the school day.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to move away from purely sports environments and into education-based roles, using coaching experience as a foundation for supporting young people in a structured school setting.

This role is focused on school-based support rather than sports delivery. You will be working in classrooms and across the school environment, supporting teachers, supervising lessons, and helping students stay on task. Your background in sport will be used as a transferable skill set to support behaviour, structure, and engagement in learning.

• Support teaching staff with classroom-based learning and supervision
• Work as a learning support assistant or cover supervisor across lessons
• Use sports coaching experience to support behaviour, focus, and engagement
• Help students remain on task and follow lesson expectations
• Contribute to a structured and positive learning environment
• Provide feedback to staff on student behaviour and participation

• Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work, or similar people-focused roles
• Confidence working with groups of young people in a school setting
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
• Interest in supporting education rather than delivering sport sessions
