Senior Bookkeeper We are seeking a detail driven and highly organised Bookkeeper to manage the day to day accounting operations and support the smooth financial running of this International Membership organisation. Position: Senior Bookkeeper Salary: £32,000 FTE (pro rata) Location: Office based (3 days per week) Hours: 18-20 hours per week, typically 09:30-15:30 Closing date: 24th April 2026 - CV's will be reviewed on a rolling basis About the Role In this key finance role, you will take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management reports and ensuring the timely processing of essential accounting tasks. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a vital part in monitoring financial performance, supporting the wider team and ensuring all processes are accurate, compliant and efficient. Key responsibilities include: Preparing monthly management reports including P&L, income statements and balance sheets using Xero and Excel. Measuring financial performance and providing insights to the management team. Maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciling bank deposits. Managing the transfer of online invoicing into the accounts system. Monitoring office expenses and processing cash receipts. Preparing vendor payment schedules and ensuring timely payments. Preparing quarterly and monthly VAT returns for UK and European territories. Overseeing bookkeeping, credit control and wider financial operations. Evaluating financial systems and recommending improvements. Supporting external accountants with year end statutory accounts. Providing occasional support at annual international conferences and events. About You You will be an experienced Bookkeeper with a strong understanding of accounting principles (minimum AAT Level 3) and substantial experience across accounts payable, receivable and general ledger work. you will also bring: Proficiency in Xero, Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong working knowledge of UK and foreign VAT rules. Excellent organisational and numerical skills with strong attention to detail. The ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure. Clear communication skills and a collaborative, can do mindset.
