Assistant Management Accountant

Hugely successful, growing business based in Leeds currently require an Assistant Management Accountant to join their expanding team. The Assistant Management Accountant role offers an excellent all-round finance opportunity, with varied responsibilities and significant exposure to the commercial aspects of finance. The company provides substantial scope for progression, both lateral and upward, throughout your tenure.

1. Daily posting and reconciliation of bank transactions, along with reporting bank balances to the management team.
2. Generation of sales invoices for projects following receipt of payment certificates, ensuring correct application of retentions and VAT.
3. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
4. Production of monthly management accounts in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
5. Preparation of VAT returns.
6. Checking staff expense submissions.
7. Developing a strong understanding of business requirements by building good working relationships with colleagues.
8. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director to identify system and process weaknesses and suggest improvements.
9. Updating weekly cash flow forecasts with actual figures.
10. Assisting with the production of cash flow and P&L forecasts as required.

1. ACCA/CIMA/AAT part-qualified with relevant experience in finance.
2. Strong Excel skills.
3. Ability to adapt and handle projects on an ad hoc basis.
