Location: Highgate, Birmingham

Salary: Ark unqualified or main teaching pay scales (£23,157 - £33,739)

Contract: Fixed term until 20 July 2026

Start date: Flexible

Ark St Alban's Academy is looking for a committed Instructor / Teacher of Physical Education to join our thriving PE department. You will support curriculum PE and extra curricular sport across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop confidence, wellbeing and achievement in a supportive and ambitious school community.

About the role

As Instructor / Teacher of PE, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, safe and well structured PE lessons that motivate pupils and promote participation, teamwork and resilience.
  • Support the development of an ambitious and inclusive PE curriculum that enables all pupils to make strong progress, regardless of starting point.
  • Lead and manage large groups of pupils effectively, modelling high standards of behaviour, professionalism and care.
  • Contribute to extra curricular clubs, fixtures and enrichment opportunities that enhance pupils' sporting experiences.
  • Play an active role in building a positive, disciplined and aspirational school culture that reflects the academy's values.

QTS is desirable but not essential; we welcome applications from strong instructors with relevant coaching qualifications and experience of working with young people.
