About the Team

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business and Workforce Development Manager to lead the strategic development of Lambeth's early years and childcare workforce.

In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership for funded early education entitlements, government early years initiatives and the development of robust IT systems supporting sector delivery. Working closely with providers, partners, and stakeholders, you will ensure sufficiency of childcare places, effective business sustainability, and the successful delivery of policies such as Early Years Pupil Premium, Disability Access Fund, SEN Inclusion Funding and 30-hour childcare. You will oversee the delivery of a comprehensive CPD programme that supports the early years sector to meet EYFS qualification requirements

About the Role:

You will manage a small team and play a key role in shaping the quality, sustainability and future direction of early years provision across the borough.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in workforce development, early years policy or business support
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and partnership working skills
  • Confidence managing budgets, funding streams and traded services
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to influence, innovate and deliver results
