The Opportunity: Junior BI Developer An organisation operating within the healthcare and commercial services sector is seeking a highly motivated Junior BI Developer to join their Data & Insight team. In this role, you will primarily focus on maintaining and enhancing existing BI dashboards and reports to support ongoing and evolving operational needs across the business.
This includes operational KPIs, commercial opportunity analysis, management information and more, for both internal and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to projects that deliver new reporting objects and capabilities, working alongside senior members of the team.
The role offers the opportunity to develop core BI skills across a broad range of areas such as front end visualisations, data modelling, and data preparation and wrangling. As part of a wider Data & Insight function, you will build strong knowledge of the organisation s operations, enabling you to deliver high quality commercial reports and actionable insights.

About the Organisation Based in Edgbaston, Birmingham, the organisation provides solutions to help clients manage spend effectively and improve performance. They work with both public and private sector healthcare and non healthcare providers to optimise the use of products and services, identify cost saving opportunities and deliver best value.
Duties (included, but not limited to)
- Acting as 1st line support for the BI team s portfolio of live reporting and dashboard assets
- Working through an ongoing backlog of enhancement requests and fixes to dashboards and reports, managed via an internal casework system
- Project based work supporting the development of new reporting capabilities and outputs
- Creating and amending visualisations and data models in Power BI and Excel, translating structured and unstructured data into useful insights and actionable recommendations
- Interfacing with key data sources via a modern data platform, data files (Excel, CSV, etc.) and SharePoint
- Delivering analytical outputs ranging from simple to more advanced, through learning datasets and collaborating with stakeholders
- Commercial partnering, developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Use of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Data visualisation experience (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar)
- Basic data manipulation skills, such as cleansing and standardisation
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Delivery of accurate work in line with requirements
- Strong attention to detail and natural analytical ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
