Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

This two-form entry primary school in Tamworth is searching for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Early Years and KS1 with Autism and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SALCN). You'll play a key role in helping children build confidence, communicate effectively, and engage with learning. You'll work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide consistent, tailored support that helps children thrive both academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and SALCN
  • Use structured routines, visual aids, and communication strategies
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff


What We're Looking For:

  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children with Autism and/or SALCN (school-based preferred)
  • Patient, calm, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of SEN strategies
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's development
