Job Description:

Working within our Manufacturing Engineering Function, you will have the opportunity to influence and define future manufacturing working practices through the development of new digital capability. You will contribute to a strategically significant programme, supporting the transition from the ageing SAPCAMS toolset to a modern, robust, and future focused solution that strengthens our manufacturing processes and underpins long term operational excellence. The position involves close collaboration with third party consultants and toolset vendors, providing valuable exposure to industry best practice.

Core duties:

  • Supporting the project working to replace the aging SAPCAMS toolset with new and improved capability
  • Being the responsible person and point of contact for capability development within the project on the topic of non-conformance management
  • Critically analysing processes and toolset capability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Defining end-to-end business processes for creation and use of digital manufacturing data across the Air Sector
  • Defining training requirements and supporting capability deployment into the business
  • Supporting the migration of data for existing projects onto new toolsets
  • Managing own work scope within the boundaries of the project objectives and providing updates to the wider team

Essential Skills:

  • Significant experience within a manufacturing or quality discipline and knowledge of non-conformance processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build working relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of managing business change projects.
  • Knowledge of future manufacturing principles such as Industry 4.0
  • Computer literacy, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office packages

The Manufacturing Engineering Processes (MEP) Team:

Working within the central Manufacturing Engineering function, the team is responsible for all processes, processes and governance across the Air (UK) sector including capability evaluation, development, and deployment for current and future Air Sector products.
