Optometrist Job Summary:
We are seeking a patient-focused Optometrist to join a friendly, community-based practice with locations including Lampeter. This role offers flexibility around testing times, strong clinical support, and opportunities to develop enhanced skills such as Independent Prescribing and Medical Retina. You will work closely with a supportive team to deliver high-quality eye care in a relaxed, patient-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations (30-45 minute testing times)
Detect, manage, and refer ocular conditions where appropriate
Provide advice on lenses and visual correction options
Carry out some dispensing duties, with a transition plan toward reduced dispensing for optometrists
Work in a double-testing environment in most practices
Maintain accurate patient records and comply with professional standards
Deliver excellent patient care and customer service
Team Development:
Work collaboratively with Dispensing Opticians and Front-of-House colleagues
Support a positive and professional team culture
Share clinical knowledge and best practice
Participate in training and mentoring where appropriate
About You:
GOC registered Optometrist
Open to working in a community-focused practice
Interest in developing clinical skills such as IP or Medical Retina (full support provided)
Confident, approachable, and patient-focused
Willing to adapt to flexible testing times if choosing higher earning potential

What They Offer:
Salary up to £65,000 for Optometrists with IP / Medical Retina
Around £45,000 for Optometrists without additional qualifications
