Reports to: Head of Social Science

Start date: September 2026

Contract: Permanent, Full time

We are seeking an experienced Psychology & Sociology teacher who loves inspiring curiosity and challenging young minds. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding teacher of Psychology/Sociology or have the potential to become outstanding
  • Have Experience in raising, or the desire to raise attainment, for all students of all abilities
  • Be committed to Ark's ethos of high expectations and no excuses and the belief that every child can succeed
  • Have evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire, and improve pupil attainment
  • To produce/contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual and groups of pupils
  • Maintain regular and productive communication with pupils, parents, and carers, to report on progress, sanctions and rewards and all other communications

Qualification Criteria:

  • Qualified to degree level and/or above
  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Right to work in the U.K.
